Tesco shoppers are being warned not to eat a popular product as certain batches may contain "small pieces of glass".

When an item is recalled, customers are advised not to consume them and to return them to the stores they were bought from to receive a full refund. Alerts are also issued by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

A new FSA update today, Wednesday, reads: "Tesco is recalling Tesco Sandwich Pickle because it may contain pieces of glass. The possible presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat."

A separate Tesco notice, which appears online and in stores, states: "We have been made aware that a specific date/batch code of Tesco Sandwich Pickle 295g jar may contain small pieces of glass. Therefore, this product could pose a safety risk if consumed.
