Tesco has announced a new partnership with one of the UK's biggest energy providers that will benefit millions of its Clubcard members.

The UK's largest supermarket chain has recently added OVO Energy as a new Rewards partner for its popular loyalty scheme. Even better, the partnership has launched a new deal that will provide cardholders with free points worth up to £50.

Customers with both an OVO account and a Clubcard membership can link up both of their accounts to earn 2,500 points for free. Launched earlier this week on June 25, the deal is available to both new and existing customers.

To qualify for the offer there are two requirements that customers need to meet. They need to pay by direct debit and have a smart meter in their home, or arrange to get one installed.

The 2,500 points earned will provide members with £25 that can be spent on their Tesco shopping in store and online. However, it can be doubled to £50 with one of the supermarket's 100+ Rewards partners.

Some of the scheme's rewards partners include Alton Towers, Disney+, Pizza Express, English Heritage and more. This means that you could use your points to do something fun for the whole family this summer.

Lizzie Reynolds, Tesco Group membership and loyalty director explained: "Clubcard unlocks the best value at Tesco and we are always looking for new ways to bring even more benefits to the 22 million UK households that have a Clubcard.

"Thanks to our new partnership with OVO, many Clubcard holders can now unlock 2,500 extra Clubcard points, giving money off their shopping or to double in value with more than 100 Clubcard reward partners."

Mat Moakes, Chief Commercial Officer at OVO said: "We’re always looking for new and innovative ways to reward our customers for joining us on our mission towards a greener future, which is why we are thrilled this offer is open to new customers as well.

"The cost of living remains a key challenge for households and our partnership with Tesco is one of the many ways in which we are giving back to our customers with rewards that they can spend how they choose. It couldn’t be a better time to join OVO and benefit from this partnership and our new rewards programme, OVO Beyond."
