The early spring bank holiday is upon us and supermarkets have adjusted their opening times. It's a common scenario on bank holiday weekends - you fire up the barbecue only to realise you've forgotten something essential, like the sausages.

Knowing your local supermarket's operating hours is crucial for those last-minute emergency purchases. The weather this weekend is also expected to be pleasant - at least in parts. The Met Office has forecasted that by Saturday, temperatures will be on the rise, exceeding the average for early May.

However, any large outdoor family gatherings might have to navigate some stormy conditions, with unsettled weather, including potential thunder and hailstorms, predicted. The Met Office stated: "A fairly uncertain period through the bank holiday weekend with more likely a warm but cloudy period with bright spells, greatest in the north and showers more likely in the south.", reports Bristol Live.

"However there is also potential for a more unsettled spell to spread from the west with fresh winds and bands of rain mid-weekend, signals still unclear regards this. Temperatures should remain close to or a little above normal for early May."
