Tesco has issued an urgent recall for two types of chocolate bars due to a potential health risk.

Customers who have purchased the 6 X 40g multipacks of Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars with a best before date of 28 February 2025, or Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars with dates of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025, are being asked to return them to the store for a full refund.

The supermarket has identified a "risk" of undeclared peanuts in these products due to a packaging error, posing a significant health threat to anyone with a peanut allergy. Customers are strongly advised not to consume the product and can receive a refund in-store without needing a receipt.

In a statement, Tesco said: "We are recalling specific date codes of our Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g. Due to a mispack, there is a risk of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient in the product. This poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts."

The UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) declared that Tesco will recall certain products from its customers due to potential food allergies, advising them to contact appropriate allergy support organizations. The notice of recall will be visibly displayed for customers in stores giving reasons for the withdrawal and necessary steps to follow if the product was purchased.
