In one of many upsets in the General Election 2024, Conservative candidate Laurence Robertson lost the Tewkesbury seat he had held since 1997. As Labour won an overall majority in the UK, a Lib Dem surge saw Cameron Thomas defeat Mr Robertson.

Mr Cameron secured 20,730 votes to Mr Robertson's 14,468. He will join new Cheltenham MP Max Wilkinson as part of a Liberal Democrat contingent at Parliament of a predicted 50 MPs.

The turnout in Tewkesbury was 66.28%. In third place was Reform UK's Byron Davis, reflecting the impact Nigel Farage's party had on the Conservative vote.
