Texas Crews Fight Largest Wildfire in State History

Firefighters continued battling what has become Texas’s largest-ever wildfire, scorching over 1 million acres as of Thursday, February 29.

Footage taken by Chase Smyth shows fire conditions throughout the week in Roberts County. The Smokehouse Creek fire began on Monday, and as of Thursday afternoon had grown to an estimated size of 1,075,000 acres (1,680 square miles) and was 3 percent contained, according to officials.
