Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pledges to keep bussing migrants to NYC, takes shot at Mayor Eric Adams in NRA speech

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott vowed Saturday to continue bussing migrants to New York City — and took a shot at Mayor Eric Adams during a speech to the NRA.

“Unless and until Joe Biden does finally begin to enforce immigration laws I will continue to bus those migrants to sanctuary cities across the United States of America,” Abbott said to loud cheers while delivering remarks at the 2024 National Rifle Association convention in Dallas.

“Buncha hypocrites,” he added.

A woman in the crowd yelled at him to send the migrants to New York, to which he responded, “oh, they’re going to New York — trust me.”

The Republican governor then took a jab at hizzoner.

“Mayor Adams needs something to do,” Abbot said.

A spokesperson for Mayor Adams fired back, calling Abbott “a coward” for his bussing program.

“Governor Abbott is a coward who uses human beings as political pawns, and has done nothing while murder rates in Texas have skyrocketed under his lack of leadership,” the spokesperson told The Post in a statement.

“If anyone ‘needs something to do,’ it’s him,” they added.

Adams’ administration has provided “compassion and care” to more than 197,000 migrants since the spring of 2022, his office noted.

The Post has reached out to City Hall for comment.

The Big Apple has been inundated with asylum seekers pouring over the US-Mexico border to be shipped to Democrat-run cities nationwide.

The Adams administration filed a $700 million lawsuit against 17 busing companies back in January, claiming they’ve hauled more than 33,000 migrants halfway across the country and dumped them in New York City since the spring of 2022.

The bus firms have raked in millions of dollars while acting in “bad faith” to assist Gov. Abbott’s plan to ship the migrants from the US-Mexico border places like New York, Chicago and Denver, the Manhattan Supreme Court suit alleges.

At least one bus company agreed to stop ferrying migrants to New York.

The city also wants the companies to foot the bill for the emergency shelter and service costs moving forward — and cover any future bills that might spring from Abbott’s plan.
