Texas Motorists Team Up to Save Dog Running Down Houston Highway

A dog was seen running down a highway in Houston, Texas, on November 10, prompting motorists to join together to save the animal and reunite it with its owner.

Local resident Toby Tinelli captured video of the incident and posted it to his Twitter page, where it had been seen more than 30,000 times at the time of writing. The video shows the dog running alongside the highway while cars slow and carefully block the dog from going any further.

The dog’s owner had been involved in a car accident, local media reported, and the dog escaped from the car and began to sprint down the highway.

Eventually, the animal-loving motorists were able to corral the dog on the shoulder of the highway. According to local media, the petrified pooch was safely reunited with its owner about six minutes after the crisis began.

In the video, the dog can be seen panting with bloody paws, surrounded by concerned citizens and its owner.

“Look at everybody coming together to help this dog,” Tinelli included in his original Twitter upload, followed by, “I love this city.” Credit: Toby Tinelli via Storyful
