Texas Police Car Struck in Wrong-Way Collision With Suspected Drunk Driver

A police officer’s patrol vehicle was struck in a wrong-way collision with a suspected drunk driver in Edinburg, Texas, on Friday, March 10, according to the Edinburg Police Department.

Dashcam footage released by the police on March 14 shows a car approaching the patrol vehicle on the wrong side of the road. Police said the car then collided with the police vehicle.

Police said the driver, a 51-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. According to police, the suspect sideswiped the back of the police unit but the officer was not injured.
