The Inbetweeners' Simon and Tara are engaged in real life

Well, who would have thought it?

It turns out that Simon from The Inbetweeners is nowhere near as awkward and uncomfortable to be around in real life, with the actor who plays him, Joe Thomas, reportedly being engaged to Hannah Tointon – who played Simon’s love interest, Tara, in the popular sitcom.

Remember Tara? The ever-so-slightly crazy girlfriend who made Si’s life absolute hell?

UniLad.com report that Simon, sorry, Joe, went and popped the question seven years after he last played the unlucky-in-love teenager, with the pair living in London together since 2012 after meeting on the show.

Neither actor has confirmed or denied the rumours, but we wouldn’t be surprised considering how bloomin’ loved-up they are.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Joe gushed about Hannah: “I always try to impress my girlfriend Hannah by any means I can and I’m very protective about her.

“I think I am romantic. I’ve tended to have some serious, long-time monogamous relationships.”

Are we looking at a full-on Inbetweeners wedding reunion in the near future then?
