Ghost, Phoenix, Cat & Mouse, Otter, Jellyfish and Knitting will take part in The Masked Singer. (ITV)

ITV's hit reality show The Masked Singer will return on New Year's Day with 12 disguised celebs all hoping to avoid being unmasked and be crowned 2023 champion.

Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan are all returning to the guessing panel who will try to decipher the clues, and figure out who is hidden under the outlandish costumes.

Joel Dommett also returns to his hosting duties as he gets ready to introduce a new batch of bizarre and unique characters to the stage, including the show's first double act. Previous winners have included Natalie Imbruglia, Joss Stone, and Nicola Roberts.

The panel has already praised the level of singing talent in this year's line up with Rita Ora saying: "I really feel like it’s next level this year.
