Katherine Ryan has revealed her teenage daughter was furious to discover she was Pigeon on The Masked Singer.

The comedian shared a video of daughter Violet, 13, watching the show at home with her and flying into a rage when she realised her mother had secretly taken part on the show.

Ryan, 39, posted the clip on Instagram of the moment she was unmasked and her daughter sitting on the sofa and exclaiming: "Obviously! I knew this the whole time!"

She then stood up and stormed out the room shouting: "Why would you lie?! You said you weren't on it."

Holding her head in her hands she said: "I knew it! I was right!"

Ryan chuckled and captioned the post: "Livid."

She also shared a picture of her toddler son Fred watching the unmasking and saying "Mamma!" before wandering off.

Ryan captioned the clip: "Tough crowd."

The Canadian actor and presenter, who lives in the UK, put on an Essex accent for the show and judges guessed she might be Gemma Collins or Stacey Solomon.

Speaking after being unmasked on Saturday, Ryan said: "I was flattered that the panel thought I might actually be from Essex like Gemma Collins or Stacey Solomon.

Ryan said: "I can only do a sort of Essex accent because I watch so much reality TV."

The comedian, who gave birth to her third child in December, said that a big part of why she chose her costume of wrapping pensioner Pigeon had been its ability to disguise her baby bump.

Ryan said: "I was quite pregnant while filming and I thought the big pigeon costume would hide that.

"It was important for me that the character had a face because some of them don’t, but I personally connect better to the characters with faces. I felt like it was important to represent a strong pensioner and I loved that Pigeon was all comedy and not trying to be attractive for anyone else."

They are parents to 19-month-old son Fred and newborn daughter Fenna.
