We all like to put our feet up over the festive period. And this seal is no exception.

The cheeky creature decided to take a break from his day-to-day routine and spend the night relaxing in his rubber dinghy.

At around 11.30pm last Wednesday Jon Harvey, 27, had just moored his yacht near to Pin Mill on the River Orwell in Suffolk. when he heard a loud splashing noise.

He then saw the seal clamber onto the inflatable, which was attached to his yacht. And when he returned the following morning the seal, which he named Cyril, was still there.

Mr Harvey, who has volunteered for the Felixstowe Volunteer Coast Patrol Rescue Service since he was 14, took a couple of pictures before the seal swam off.

MrHarvey, from Ipswich, Suffolk, said: “I had been out sailing on Wednesday and moored my yacht near to Pin Mill.

“Late in the evening I heard a loud splashing noise and was amazed when I saw the seal getting into my dinghy.

“It was clearly very comfortable laying across the bench seat, and was still there the next morning.

“It was incredible to watch and I feel really lucky to have witnessed it.”
