Yahoo News Steph McGovern halts 'The Steph Show' as family want their home back
Steph McGovern has announced she will stop filming her show from home during the coronavirus lockdown because her family need a break.
The 37-year-old TV presenter – who welcomed her first child in November 2019 – has been hosting The Steph Show from her home in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, during the lockdown.
McGovern said on Twitter: “As much as I’ve loved doing a lockdown show at home I never expected it to go on this long.
“We’ve decided it’s time to have a break and give my family our home back.
“The proper prog will be launching when the Leeds studio is sorted, I may still be wearing slippers.”

She added: “The last locked down version of #TheStephShow will be next Thurs 7th May. Then the plan is to launch again at our fancy studios at Leeds Docks in a couple of months, once they’re safely up and running.”
McGovern quit BBC Breakfast last year after Channel 4 offered her the chance to host her own show which was due to launch this spring.

The launch of The Steph Show went ahead on 30 March despite the lockdown, with cameras set up in McGovern’s home, where she lives with her girlfriend and her four-month-old daughter.
The show has been airing live at 12pm on Mondays to Fridays, with guests appearing via video link.

Channel 4 has confirmed that The Steph Show currently has a production team of five people working on site, all working under social distancing guidelines. Production vehicles are reported to have been parked outside the home and McGovern has shared pictures of her home filled with equipment.
McGovern revealed earlier this year how being the target of abusive comments on social media had made her start to think negatively about her own body.
She told The Times: "People started calling me fat and, because I have quite a large jaw, they called me Desperate Dan.

"You try and be tough, but when they get specific about things you never even thought of, it's hurtful. I started thinking negatively about my body in a way I never had before."
