The Traitors has returned with fresh blood for season 2. But out of the 22 contestants, already some have claims to fame and have appeared on TV before. Who did you recognise?
One of the contestants has appeared on game show Deal or No Deal. Another of the reality TV stars has a famous son and another has been dating a children's TV presenter. We take a look at the famous contestants as the stars rocket to overnight fame on The Traitors season two...
Deal or No Deal
It turns out Paul Gorton, from Manchester, is no stranger to TV after all. Already the TV personality has starred on game show Deal or No Deal more than 10 years ago in 2010. He appeared on the show with box number 16 while Noel Edmonds was the TV host.
At the time it was filmed he was just 22 years old and living at home with his mum's house in Warrington. The budding reality TV star had hoped to walk away with the top cash prize fund and a modelling contract. When Paul was on Deal or No Deal he was unemployed but now he is starring on The Traitors and for his day job he is a business manager.
Winkleman picked him out to be one of the Traitors in the show and already he knows what he would like to spend any winnings on. There is a cash prize of up to £120,000 up for grabs to be won by the reality stars competing on the murder mystery show.
Ahead of the show airing, he said: "It'll have to be a house. For myself, my partner, our little boy and our dog - I need to get us all a house. We’re renting at the moment and mortgage rates are just chaos, so if I can win the show or be part of a group of people that win the show then that is life changing for us. The family, the house, nothing glamorous really, there's no cars, parties or holidays, it’s: we need a roof over our heads and then that will set us up for the rest of our lives. Or a Ferrari..."
Game of Thrones
Retired teacher Diane has a claim to fame too as one of her sons is already famous. Her son Kerr Logan had a role in Game of Thrones as he played Matthos Seaworth.
In total shock, the actor revealed he had no idea his mum was appearing on The Traitors. When the line-up was announced, he wrote on social media platform X: "I’m not joking….. a family member of mine is in this photo and I’ve only just found out."
Tuning in to watch the drama unfold, the TV star shared his thoughts on his mum's appearance on The Traitors. He wrote: "My mother is on the traitors. My mother is on the traitors. My mother is on the traitors. She’s bonkers. I’m scared." Later, he added in a tweet: "My mother is trending on twitter….. one of the more surreal nights of my life……"
Clearly impressed with her appearance so far, the Game of Thrones star shared a series of tweets about his mum from others including Rylan who wrote: "Never been more afraid of being found out by her and I’m not even a traitor on the show."
Diane has insisted she doesn't have a game plan. Ahead of the series, she said: "No, not really. Last series, the players used anything they could find against each other, like when Maddy mentioned she was an actress. I thought that was a rubbish reason to get rid of her because it was so obvious that she was a Faithful, but they stuck with it."
It has been revealed that Diane's other son Ross is starring on the show in a huge twist. In episode three, the video director told the camera "So it turns out Diane is my mum. I know... I thought I was going to be slipping up all the time to be honest with you."
He later added: "We are a team at the end of the day. We're going to try and divide and conquer. We've got the competitive and the drive for one of us to win it. If one of us wins it, we both win it. We're going to keep the relationship secret. I'm just trying to stay focussed but it's tough."
Famous girlfriend
The Traitors star Harry Clarke served in the British Army before starring on the reality series, however, he too has a surprising claim to fame. He has been loved-up with his CBBC presenter girlfriend Anna Maynard, who presents singing competition Got What it Takes.
Part of a famous family, Anna is also the sister of singer Conor Maynard and I'm A Celebrity contestant Jack Maynard. YouTuber Jack was only in I'm A Celebrity for three days before he was forced to quit over historic tweets.
Harry and Anna have been romancing for about two years and no doubt she is supporting him behind the scenes as he branches out into TV. Their love story has played out on Instagram too with the couple often sharing photographs and glimpses into their times together.
Ahead of the series, Harry revealed why he had set his sights on starring on The Traitors. He said: "It's a life-changing experience, and not many people get to say that they've been on TV! It will be such a great experience. Don’t get me wrong, though, the money at the end would also be life-changing."
