Ciri also found herself a new family amongst a troupe of misfits known as The Rats. The group came to her aid after she was kidnapped by men trying to take her to her father, Emperor Emhyr var Emreis (Bart Edwards), she even kills one of them before joining the group she tells them that her name is Falka.

Allan is particularly interested in how the events of volume 2, and Ciri's willingness to kill, will impact her character mentally, saying: "I'm excited to just delve into this darker part of Ciri and also I think it's just gonna be a huge amount of change that happens to her in the group that she joins, The Rats.

"I'm scared [and] intrigued [about] how that's going to all be interpreted and how that's gonna be taken on. But I'm, I guess, excited [and] I'm scared at the same time."

The actor shared her thoughts on season 4 alongside co-stars Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey, who play Yennefer and Jaskier respectively, and who also shared what they're most excited to see happen with their characters when the show returns.

For Chalotra, Yennefer's arc will hinge on her reaction to the death of her mentor Tissaia (MyAnna Buring) who died by suicide in the season 3 finale.

"I don't know what's coming for Yennefer, but it's a life without Tissaia and I think that will make her very strong," Chalotra says.

"And I think the world will need her a lot, her strength, her newfound strength for Ciri, which she has learned needs to be for Ciri now. I'm still figuring it out."

Reflecting on what he feels is in store for his character in the next season, Batey says: "This family is growing and we know in books where Jaskier and Geralt's journey goes, and there's some new additions to the gang as it were.

"I think it's gonna be really interesting to see how Jaskier brings in these new people and these characters into the found family and welcomes them. I think that's the thing I'm most looking forward to."
