"Most Men Recognize It": People Are Reacting To A Giant IUD That's Just Been Inserted In Washington, DC

Commuters at Washington, DC's Union Station were greeted this morning with a 20-foot-tall inflatable intrauterine device (IUD).

The oversized inflatable birth control device was inserted by Americans for Contraception to encourage the Senate to pass the Right to Contraception Act when they vote on it today.

The Right to Contraception Act would federally protect every American's right to access birth control if they want to, whether in the form of pills, patches, implants, condoms, IUDs, or medical procedures like vasectomies. Since the fall of Roe v. Wade in 2022, some conservatives have proposed measures that could limit access to medications like hormonal birth control. This includes convicted felon former president Donald Trump, who has said he is "looking at" restrictions on contraception and ominously promised to have an "interesting" plan around this topic "very soon."

Meanwhile, on the website formerly known as Twitter, people are reacting to the giant IUD with jokes:

Some people questioned the IUD's placement:

While others poked fun at Republican legislators' consistent lack of knowledge about women's health:

But mostly, people were delighted by the new addition to DC's many historic landmarks:

It kinda makes me wish I was in DC today to see it in person:

Some people might even find it romantic:

It's actually a symbol of freedom, if you think about it:

In case you didn't know, getting an IUD placed can be excruciatingly painful, and most doctors don't offer patients any pain medications or anesthesia aside from, like, two Tylenol, so that's why this tweet made me laugh and cry at the same time.

Of course, some conservatives are big mad about the big IUD, but it's really just the consequences of their actions coming back to haunt them in the form of a 20-foot-tall inflatable. Kinda feels like they're getting off easy, in my opinion.
