If you were a die-hard fan of Wizards of Waverly Place back in the day, you might want to find a place to sit down. Because Selena Gomez has just casually reunited with her former co-stars. As in... three members of the iconic Russo family!!

The Only Murders in the Building star posed for a snap with David Henrie, who played her on-screen brother Justin, David DeLuise, aka dad Jerry, and Maria Canals-Barrera, who starred as Theresa, the mum of the three Russo kids. Notably though, Jake T. Austin - who portrayed Max, the youngest of the siblings - was absent from the shot.

The snap was jointly posted to Instagram by David DeLuise and David Henrie, who captioned the nostalgia-fuelled moment: "The Russos, coming back."

Naturally, plenty of fans flocked to the comments section to gush over the shot and share their excitement for the sequel.

"THIS IS WHAT WE WERE WAITING FOR," one fan enthused, while a second said: "I love seeing y'all reunited."

"Omg it's finally happening, Wizards of Waverly Place is returning! I grew up watching this!" a third typed, as a fourth added: "This makes me so happy!"

The reunion of the actors comes just over a week after the Wizards of Waverly Place sequel was confirmed. As per Deadline, Disney Branded Television green-lighted a pilot for the follow-up show, whereby Selena and David Henrie were confirmed as executive producers.

While it's been reported that Selena will only make a guest appearance in the pilot - reprising her role as the cheeky and outgoing Alex Russo - David's character Justin is set to be a series regular. Plus, the new version of the show will welcome a fresh batch of cast members, including Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

Granted, the sequel is set to be a *lot* different than the original series, which ran from 2007 to 2012. It followed Alex and her brothers as they navigated life as 'typical' New York teenagers who also came from a family of wizards.

Alternatively, this edition will document the aftermath of "a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife and two sons.

"But he gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door… and Justin must embrace his past to ensure the future of the Wizard World."

We can't wait!
