Thief breaks into military base as police release CCTV of man skulking on roof

Police are on the hunt for a burglar who infiltrated a Yorkshire military installation - with CCTV capturing an individual lurking atop a building.

The break-in occurred at Catterick Garrison, a prominent military hub close to Richmond, in North Yorkshire. The incident took place around 7.05 pm on Thursday, March 28, along Hipswell Road.

Following initial investigations, authorities have obtained CCTV footage that reveals two individuals in the area coinciding with the time of the theft, including an image of a man positioned on a roof. North Yorkshire Police is now seeking information from witnesses who may have noticed a man wearing a unique black hoodie adorned with white lettering on the sleeves.

The police have issued a statement saying, "We'd like to speak to the person pictured by CCTV as they may have information that could help our investigation. We would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered a HIKvision Bullet CCTV camera."
