With bright white skin and pink eyes, this albino alligator can’t help but stand out.

The animal, known as Pearl, lives at Gatorland in Orlando, Florida, and is one of the few of its kind in the world.

An extraordinary video shows the seven and a half-foot-long, 105lb beast emerge from the water and attempt to snatch a hat that a keeper is teasing it with.

“Pearl is ten years old,” said a spokesman for the park.

“She arrived at Gatorland when she was three years old. Pearl is an albino alligator, due to the complete absence of pigmentation, which gives her white skin and pink eyes.

“Visitors to the park like to come and see a rare albino alligator like Pearl.”

The park refers to itself as the Alligator Capital of the World — a 100-acre theme park in the US, which has been open since 1949.

It is home to some ‘leucistic’ alligators, which are alligators that have dark eyes but also lack pigmentation in their skin.

Only around three in every million alligators are born with this genetic default, and are hunted to make expensive handbags.

Other white gators that have lived at Gatorland over the years include Bouya Blan, who was found deep in a Louisiana swamp.

When it was discovered in 2009, it was considered one of only 12 white alligators in the world.

“People are awestruck when they see them, and just one look into those icy, blue eyes will give you chills,” said Mark McHugh, CEO of Gatorland, at the time.
