This Morning viewers complain about 'painful' show and beg 'get Ruth and Eamonn back'
The new season at This Morning with Holly Willoughby and Alison Hammond has not been popular with some viewers.
This Morning viewers have slammed the show's presenting line up for the new season, begging "bring back Ruth and Eamonn".
Holly Willoughby returned to the ITV show from her extended summer break on Monday co-hosting with Alison Hammond who presents on Fridays and has been filling in for Willoughby over the summer.
Willoughby and Hammond were back on screen together on Tuesday ahead of the National Television Awards, but many viewers made it clear they were not keen on the pair presenting together.
Some people even called for former Friday hosting duo Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes to be brought back full time, as well as the summer holidays stand-in team.
One viewer tweeted: "For the love of god please get some professional presenters back, it’s like watching pinky and perky. Bring back Ruth and Eamonn. Alison’s cackling is seriously annoying."

Holmes has made his feelings about ITV clear since being replaced on the Friday episodes by Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, and has since joined GB News while his wife Langsford hosts ITV's Loose Women.
In 2022, Holmes told the Daily Mail of his departure from This Morning: "I'm all for TV companies being able to choose who works for them, but it would be nice if you were told why you were going.
"They're sly. They didn't want to announce that I'd been dropped because it would adversely affect audience figures, so they made it look as if I'd walked away from them rather than the other way round."
Another viewer wrote: "Had better presenters over the summer. Infantile cackling, comments and shouting is dreadful. Watched five minutes and that’s four minutes too many."
Someone else agreed: "#ThisMorning really doesn’t need Holly. I much prefer it in the holidays. Please make Josie, Craig, Alison & Dermot the full time hosts give it a good revamp!"
One person added: "I haven’t watched #ThisMorning since the whole Schofield thing and tbh it’s a painful watch now Holly has lost her appeal and you can sense of toxicity within the programme."
Viewers were also looking ahead to Tuesday night's NTAs, where This Morning have previously done well - but are a controversial inclusion in some of the categories this year after Phillip Schofield quit when details of his affair with a much younger colleague emerged.
This Morning is nominated in the Daytime TV category, while Hammond faces stiff competition from Ant and Dec for TV Presenter.
One person tweeted: "I really truly hope #ThisMorning doesn’t win the NTA tonight - it’ll be horrid if they do."
Someone else agreed: "Painful today once again #thismorning gang. They better not win later."
