Thomas County Republican Party to host Candidate Meet and Greet

Apr. 19—THOMASVILLE — On April 23, in the Best Western Ball Room the Thomas County Republican Party will host the 2024 Candidate Meet and Greet Fundraiser, giving local voters a chance to meet the candidates who will be running for office this voting season.

Voters will enjoy a chicken pilau dinner and a raffle before hearing the 20 candidates in attendance speak. Each candidate will have roughly five minutes to deliver their speeches to voters.

The candidates in attendance include Rep. Darlene Taylor for Georgia House District 173; Rep. Chas Cannon for Georgia House District 171; Michael Nixon for Second District Congress; Joey Blackburn, Joe Futch, David Hufstetler and Tim Watkins for Thomas County Sheriff; Lois Schofill for County Commissioner District 2; Mark Nesmith for County Commissioner District 4; Wiley Grady for County Commissioner District 6; Adrian Burns for County Commissioner District 6; Zippy Vonier for County Commisioner District 8; and Jimmy Woodward District 8 for Thomas County Commission; Jeremy Baker and William Whitesell for Superior Court Judge; and Chuck McDonald and Matthew Shiner for Chief Magistrate Judge.
