Thomasville has strong showing at Region Literary Meet

Feb. 26—THOMASVILLE- Representatives from the Thomasville City Schools had a strong showing at the Georgia High School Association's recent 1-AAA Literary Meeting, placing first in three categories, earning twelve total medals and taking second place overall.

Representing Thomasville High School & Scholars Academy, SarahRose Miller placed first in Solo Dramatic Literary Interpretation, Evan Ariail earned first place in Essay-Literary Analysis and Julia Sharp, Adalee King and Laramie Stokes captured top honors in Trio. Those students will continue on to compete in the upcoming State AAA Literary Meet

Placing second from Thomasville were Jack Kirsey, Extemporaneous Speaking-Domestic; Dhruket Patel, Extemporaneous Speaking-International; Hogan Watson, Solo Humorous Literary Interpretation and Boys Solo; Julia Sharp, Girls Solo; SarahRose Miller and Athalia Knight, Literary Interpretation-Duo; Rose Lehman, Essay-Argumentative; Morgaine Leroux, Essay-Personal; Athalia Knight, Hogan Watson, Colin Connery and Evan Ariail, Quartet.

Columbus High School attained the highest number of points, securing the Region 1AAA championship. Thomasville High was named first runner-up, and Monroe High School placed third overall.

Thomasville's literary team is coached by Rebecca Ramsey Nicolay, assisted by Brantley Ivey Harrison.
