Creamfields, the award-winning music festival, returns this August Bank Holiday, transforming a portion of Daresbury's countryside into a musical haven.

For many festival-goers, tickets are often the most significant expense when planning their trip. Tickets for the four-day event are still up for grabs, albeit in limited quantities.

The most affordable option is the Standard Day Ticket, which varies between £75 and £150, depending on your chosen festival day.

However, there's an alternative way to soak up three days of the festival for a mere £15, but you need to be prepared to work for it, reports Wales Online. The annual event, which typically draws up to 70,000 music enthusiasts over the extended weekend, relies on volunteers to supplement the on-site staff and ensure smooth operations throughout the festival.

What roles can you apply for?

Wristbanding: This role may seem simple, but it's crucial for the festival's safe operation. Duties often include ticket collection at the festival gates, wristband distribution, and handing ticket stubs to the appropriate team members. Your responsibility will be to facilitate ticket-holders' safe entry through the gates and assist event staff in monitoring attendee numbers.

Stewarding: Stewards are the backbone of festivals, managing crowds, guiding attendees to the correct locations, indicating amenities, and fostering a lively, cheerful atmosphere. As a festival steward, you could be tasked with a variety of roles - from assisting with safe parking to providing information and directing attendees around the site. With shifts tailored for your enjoyment, stewarding is an excellent way to experience the UK's best while making a positive impact on all attendees.

Information Point: Info Point Stewards ensure customers have the necessary information for a smooth weekend. They assist by pointing out amenities, giving directions, informing customers about on-site facilities, dealing with welfare issues, and creating a lively, cheerful atmosphere. As a festival info point steward, you might be required for a range of tasks. From guiding people to first aid to helping repair tents or dealing with lost property.

Bar Staff: Often situated near one of the stages, you'll be serving drinks and helping customers enjoy some of the biggest acts available. Assisting the bar managers and wider event staff, as well as serving drinks and keeping the taps flowing, you'll be responsible for maintaining a clean and organised bar.

What will I be expected to do?

Volunteers are needed for the festival running from Thursday, August 22, to Sunday, August 25, 2024. You'll need to be on site a day earlier (August 21).

Those chosen will undergo basic training before being allocated three eight-hour shifts. The exact shift patterns are yet to be confirmed (as of June 2024).
