One of the grandest looking buildings in the spa town of Llandrindod Wells is going to auction with a guide price that is likely to be noticed by potential investors looking for a building that can boast multiple homes inside.

Temple Street is a major route through the town, flanked by a leafy outlook across Llandrindod Lake Park on one side and towering, red-brick, handsome period houses on the other, and is a classic period street in this Powys spa town.

Llandrindod Wells experienced a boom during mainly the Victorian times and so can boast some beautiful and big buildings from that era. Website Llandrindod Wells states that, as the name suggests, the town was 'historically linked with the health-giving waters which it still provides for visitors today'. The site goes on to say that although the beneficial effects of taking the waters were known to the Romans, the development of the town did not take off until the middle of the 19th Century when it welcomed the railway, and then it grew at a remarkable rate, as the taking of the waters became a fashionable part of Victorian life.

Fast forward to the present and Llandrindod Wells offers a mix of small independent shops, eateries and public houses, doctors, dentists, a hospital with a small injury department, library, high school, two supermarkets, leisure centre, golf course, train, bus station and boating lake. The whole area around Llandrindod Wells is noted for its stunning scenery and the range of outdoor activities on offer.

In amongst the visually appealing collection of Victorian streets that fan out from the centre of the town is a triple row of classic red-brick, period townhouses, and the middle one is now offering the chance to own the eight, self-contained flats that are found inside it, going to auction with a guide price of just £325,000.

The auction house states that the property has undergone extensive refurbishment in the last few years, with all new wiring, central heating systems and decoration throughout. All apartments are currently let and, based on the current for sale price, the property returns just over 9% income per annum.
