When you're in need of a quick snack fix, you don't want to be spending ages whipping something up in the kitchen.

And if pizza is the thing you're craving, you can actually make it in the microwave using just three simple ingredients - and it only takes one minute to cook.

The simple recipe hack was shared on TikTok by Tommy Winkler, also known as @thefoodguy, who has racked up over 10.9 million followers thanks to his wacky food challenges and tips. His mug pizza video has gone viral, with over three million views, and many people say they're keen to try it for themselves.

Rather than waiting for a pizza to cook in the oven, or spending loads of money on a takeaway, all you need to make a 'unique' serving of pizza in the microwave is some dough, some tomato sauce and some cheese - and then you can put any toppings you like on the top.

To make this simple dish, first you'll need to grab your ready-rolled pizza dough - which you can buy for £1.49 from Asda - and cut out a slice that'll fit in the bottom of your chosen mug. You should also make sure that the one you pick is safe to be microwaved.

Then, spread some pizza sauce or tomato paste over the top of the dough before sprinkling some cheese on top. This is all you need to make the most basic version, but you can also add various toppings, and Tommy chose to add some mini pepperoni slices on top.

When that's done, all you need to do is stick the mug in the microwave and set the timer for one minute. After this, the dough will have puffed up nicely, with the cheese perfectly melted over the top. Then, just grab a spoon or a fork and dig in.

Tommy admitted this was one of the more 'unique' foods he'd tried, but in the comments, many people said they wanted to try it out for themselves.

One person said: "Wow this is actually genius for students," while another commented: "One day this is going viral like the Oreo mug cake."

"That looks so good," said a third, while someone else joked: "I'm an Italian and I'm offended."
