'Three injured' in Hessle Road collision involving police car

Three people have been injured in a collision between a car and police car on a major Hull road, police say.

Emergency services were called to Hessle Road, close to the junction of Wellsted Street, shortly after 11.50am today (Sunday, April 28) after a black Toyota C-HR car was in collision with a police car.

The road was subsequently closed to motorists to allow emergency services to deal with the incident, and the driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries, the extent of which are not currently known.

Two police staff members, who were in the police car when the collision happened, sustained minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Enquiries are underway and anyone with information or CCTV/Dashcam footage from the area, who has not already spoken to us, is asked to call 101 quoting log 190 of 28 April."
