Three months of road works as Anlaby undergoes huge essential gas work upgrade

Northern Gas Network has announced a huge 18-week upgrade project in Anlaby.

The ageing metal pipework used in the village is being improved to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply to its customers - while ensuring that the network will be ready to transport alternative, greener fuels in the future.. The lengthy project has been carefully coordinated with the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and will begin on Monday, June 24 and is expected to be completed by October 28.

To ensure that the work can be carried out efficiently and safely, traffic management has been implemented throughout the duration of the work.

Chris Keith, Operations Manager for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Anlaby. "

“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”

The planned phases for the road are as follows -

  • Week 1 - Road Closure - Kingston Road at Ashton Road Junction.

  • Weeks 1-5 - Road Closure - Ashton Road between the Kington Road Junction to Hazelbarrow Drive

  • Weeks 5-9 - Multiway Lights - Wolfreton Road and Forty Steps

  • Week 12 - Road Closure -Wolfreton Drive at the Springfield Way Junction

  • Road 13 - Road Closure - North Street

  • Weeks 14-16 - Multiway Lights - Pryme Street, Wolferton Drive and Wilson Street
