Three People Detained While Protesting Turkey's First Nuclear Power Plant

Three people, including a Workers’ Party of Turkey politician, were detained while protesting against the Russian-built Akkuyu nuclear power plant in Mersin province on Thursday, April 27, according to T24 newspaper.

Footage released by the party shows protesters and police officers four kilometers (2.4 miles) from the plant, where T24 said protesters were blocked from continuing further.
