A road is set to be closed in west Hull for three weeks due to gas works.

Since March 11, Northern Gas Network has been upgrading ageing metal pipework to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply around the city.

The next stage of the eight-week-long project, which has been planned in collaboration with Hull City Council, will begin on Monday, April 22 - with a closure on Perth Street West set to be implemented for three weeks until Friday, May 10.

The closure is being put in place so "engineers can carry out the necessary work safely and efficiently while protecting the public". A signed diversion will be in place for motorists and updates can be found at one.network.co.uk

Scott Kitchingman, business operations lead for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Hull.

“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
