Thunder is forecast for parts of the UK with rain showers predicted for Coventry. Soaring temperatures that have led to a mini heatwave so far this week are set to start to cool as of tomorrow (June 27).

The British Weather Services said it will bring the 'odd crack of thunder' from southern Scotland to the western Wales, reports The Mirror. While Coventry and Warwickshire is set to avoid any thunder tomorrow, the temperature will be cooler.

There is, according to the latest local Met Office forecast for our area, the chance of 'the odd shower' tomorrow and Friday (June 28). It will also feel breezier than it has of late.

Rain and drizzle is also forecast for the weekend but Sunday is set to be drier. The latest local online forecast is as follows:

Today

Another fine and very warm, locally hot, day is expected, with plenty of sunshine. Winds remaining light. UV levels will be high though given the strong sunshine, and very high grass pollen levels are also expected. Maximum temperature 29C.

Tonight

A fine evening with plenty of sunshine, then clear spells overnight. Cloud thickening from the west later though with patchy rain and drizzle arriving. Winds picking up a little too. Minimum temperature 15C

Thursday

Cloud, rain and drizzle clearing to the east during the morning. This will leave a bright and breezy day with a fresher feel, and perhaps the odd shower developing later. Maximum temperature 23C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

Staying breezy through Friday with bright spells and perhaps the odd shower. Rain and drizzle arriving on Saturday, though with lighter winds. Mainly dry for Sunday with bright spells.
