Thunderstorm warning for Coventry after lightning strikes overnight

The Met Office says thunder could hit Coventry with a mixture of hail, too. The latest local online forecast says there could be thunderstorms today (May 16).

This will be followed by heavy showers tomorrow (May 17) with 'hail and thunder' in the afternoon. It comes after flashes of lightning struck our area last night.

In Nuneaton a bright flash of lightning was followed by a short but very sharp shower at around 10pm last night (May 15). Nationally there have been warnings about 'monster' thunderstorms and this is set to continue into today.
