Haddish did not always listen to the therapist's advice. "I would date them anyway. And then I was like 'Oh dang, the therapist was right,' " she said

Tiffany Haddish used to have a foolproof dating strategy.

The comedian, 44, appeared on the May 9 episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, where she spoke to her various experiences with therapists as a young woman. After Haddish told host Seth Meyers that she used to test out her standup comedy routines during therapy sessions, the Girls Trip star said she eventually met a therapist who agreed to accompany her on dates.

"I started asking them to come with me on dates, come with me to different things," she said, before clarifying, "No, like going out to dinner dates — like I'm going on a date."

"I would ask the therapist, could you meet me here? I just want you to meet this person and see if they're somebody I should be dating," she added.
