TikTok detective says Jay Slater 'still in ravine' and 'no way' search done properly

A TikToker hunting for Jay Slater has said he believes the missing teenager is still in the Tenerife ravine and that there's "no way" it was searched properly.

The 19-year-old, from Oswaldtwistle, disappeared on June 17 after leaving a rave to stay at an isolated Airbnb in the Spanish island's mountains with two acquaintances. The apprentice bricklayer had posted a Snapchat video from Casa Abuela Tina, near Masca village, moments before his last established phone call with friend Lucy Mae Law, just before he vanished.

The official search operation ended nearly two weeks ago, with his last verified location pinpointed as being half a mile north of Masca. Anxiety concerning the teenager's welfare continues to escalate.

Despite the discontinuation of official searches, loved ones, friends, and TikTok followers tenaciously press on with their mission. One particularly prominent figure has taken to the social media platform to make a bold new claim. Known as ChristopherTenerife or simply Chris, the expatriate Brit shared a video where he scours a vast area of the rugged terrain, reports the DailyStar.

In the footage, he claims that there's "no way" the area was thoroughly searched, adding: "I don't buy into the conspiracy theories, I don't buy into someone took Jay. When you come and stand on this terrain, if that lad was heading for the coast I honestly think he's had a bit of misfortune.

"He's had a fall, he's had an accident or he's dehydrated and passed out. I feel he's in this ravine, in this area of Tenerife . . . missing I honestly believe that."

It comes just two days after the Guardia Civil, who ceased their search for the teenager less than two weeks after it started, received another offer of help from British police. When the hunt first began, Lancashire Constabulary proposed to aid their Spanish colleagues, and despite being disregarded initially, the force stated again that it's "position remains the same" when approached by the Daily Express this week.

Their earlier statement asserted: "While this case falls outside the jurisdiction of UK policing, we have made an offer of support to the Guardia Civil to see if they need any additional resources. They have confirmed that at this time they are satisfied that they have the resources they need, but that offer remains open and they will contact us should that position change."

They also added to their declaration this week saying,:: "Our position remains the same as per the statement in June. We continue to support the family."
