TikToker Hopes People 'Can Learn' From Her Mistake After Chaotic Kitchen Fire Video Goes Viral

A Connecticut woman’s chaotic reaction to a kitchen fire has gone viral on TikTok, and she hopes that others will learn from her mistake.

“This is exactly what you SHOULD NOT DO!” LaTeasha Brost said, sharing footage of her panic-stricken response as a pan went up in flames.

Brost told Storyful it was an oil fire, and she made the fatal error of throwing water on it, causing the flames to leap higher.

“It’s okay if you laugh … there was no apartment damage and luckily only received 2nd degree burns,” she wrote on TikTok, adding “this is your sign to get a fire extinguisher or fire blanket in your kitchen.”

“We didn’t know what to do and although we are very embarrassed, we hope people can learn from this so they don’t make the same mistake as we did,” Brost said. Credit: @rachandteash via Storyful
