Hull City's players will return to training this morning for the first time since their 1-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle on the final day of the Championship season ready to embark upon a new era.

That defeat at Home Park not only brought their campaign to an abrupt end, but it also signalled the end of Liam Rosenior's 18-month tenure with the Tigers.

City's playing squad will hope to catch the eye of new boss Tim Walter, who took charge a month ago with the German saying the majority of the group will start with a clean slate.

Walter will be keen to get a good look at his playing squad over the next week or so before they fly out to Istanbul for their 10-day training camp in Riva, at the headquarters of the Turkish FA.

Though the existing playing group will be given chance to impress the new man, City are working hard behind the scenes to bring in new recruits to fill the various gaps left by the players released and those loanees who returned to their parent clubs.

"Yes, most of them," Walter said when asked if the players start with a clean slate). "I don't know them at the moment, so it's the beginning at the scratch. I think we have a very good recruitment department and scouting department, we will find the players. Maybe it takes a little bit of time to get the best one out of them but I'm sure we will find them soon."

The upcoming trip to Turkey which will see City's players put through a gruelling training regime and while they'll be worked hard in the sunshine, they'll also enjoy plenty of downtime and a chance to bond with each other and their new-look coaching team, something the 48-year-old says is vitally important.

"It is, yes," Walter said when asked about how crucial the trip to Turkey will be. "But first of all, it can start now, so I'm very looking forward to it.

"I can't wait till it starts. The pre-season is very exciting and very, very important, because I have a different style to play and it will take some work, but we want to work because we want to perform, we want to win.

"I want to create the mentality that they always want to win the boys and that we have to create the family (environment) because only if we're doing it like that and having good relationships between them can you be successful."
