What time is the ITV election debate tonight and who is on the line up

It's 21 days until the General Election, and tonight (June 13) sees another debate between parties. This one, on ITV, will see seven leaders or senior representatives go head-to-head.

The topics will no doubt take in the flashpoint discussions of the election, and where parties will hope to make gains against their opponents. Expect heated conversations about the NHS, immigration, tax and the economy, education and the climate crisis.

Standing positions for the debate have been decided after lots were drawn. So read on to find out what's happening and when.

What time is ITV leaders debate tonight?

The ITV General Election multi-party debate is on Thursday, June 13 at 8.30pm. The ITV Election Debate 2024 will be broadcast on ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.

Who is on the line up?

Leaders or senior representatives from the following parties will participate as follows; Penny Mordaunt for Conservative Party, Angela Rayner for Labour Party, Daisy Cooper for Liberal Democrats, Stephen Flynn for SNP, Nigel Farage for Reform UK, Carla Denyer for Green Party and Rhun ap Iorwerth for Plaid Cymru.

Standing positions for the debate have been decided, after lots were drawn. Each party’s representative will stand behind podiums on the stage from left to right in the order: Labour, Liberal Democrats, Conservative, Green Party, Reform UK, SNP, Plaid Cymru.

The debate will be moderated by Julie Etchingham, who moderated Sunak v Starmer: The ITV Debate earlier in this campaign and previous ITV election debates in 2015, 2017 and 2019. The programme will run for 90 minutes. It will be followed by ITV News at Ten.

What other debates has ITV held so far in this campaign?

ITV aired the first head-to-head General Election debate between Rishi Sunak, leader of the Conservative Party, and Keir Starmer, leader of the Labour Party on Tuesday, June 4 at 9pm. The hour-long debate, Sunak v Starmer: The ITV Debate, moderated by Julie Etchingham reached a peak of 5.5m viewers across devices and is available to stream on ITVX.

The debate was followed at 10.10pm by The ITV Election Interviews presented by Anushka Asthana. The leaders of the Liberal Democrats, the SNP, Reform UK and the Greens were invited to take part in this live programme featuring extended interviews. It is available to stream on ITVX.

The leader of Plaid Cymru took part in an interview with ITV Cymru Wales which broadcast in Wales that evening. ITV has confirmed its further General Election coverage plans, which include Tom Bradby leading the overnight coverage on July 4, as well as extensive coverage leading up to the election.
