With its usual use as a football stadium, specific guidelines have to be followed by Liverpool FC for Anfield to host major events like Taylor Swift and P!nk later this month. This is done through working with Liverpool Council to secure relevant licences.

To host the Bad Blood singer’s sell out performances, as well as other shows past and future, the club has obtained an entertainment and alcohol licence from the local authority. This dictates how and when the gigs can progress.

Doors for the show - which will be supported by US rock band Paramore - open to the general public at 4pm, with all ticket holders designated a specific entry point. The show is expected to last three and a half hours.

LFC have secured an agreement with Liverpool Council for performances like Taylor Swift to continue up to 11pm, which will cover any delays should the megastar hit any delays. This is permitted no more than six times a year, which will cover this weekend’s three shows and additional performances by P!nk later this month.

The 11pm deadline is owing to the residential area in which Anfield is set. As it is surrounded by housing, timings are set by specific teams in the run up to events like concerts to ensure limited disruption for nearby households.

Under these rules, LFC has to cooperate with Liverpool Council to promote safe walking routes to major transport hubs after the event finishes, like Lime Street station and bus stops. This also applies for car parking for ticket holders.

Gig-goers are being urged to make arrangements early to ensure they aren’t disappointed. Merseytravel is working with rail and bus operators to make sure everybody’s journeys are as easy and safe as possible.

Many public transport services end between 11.30pm and midnight, with fans encouraged to make sure they can get home from each show. More information can be found here.
