Todd Cantwell sparks Rangers fan anger with new cryptic post as bizarre motivational speech goes down like lead balloon

Todd Cantwell has been at it again with another cryptic social media post - and Rangers fans are getting tired of it.

The midfielder looks set to leave Ibrox this summer as part of Philippe Clement's overhaul and his activity on Instagram and X has frequently got fans talking. Whether it's quoting Kanye with 'birds don't fly in a cage' or quickly deleting his 'Shushburger' post after the Scottish Cup final, Cantwell likes to stir things up.

This time, he's uploaded a full motivational speech to his Instagram story appearing to take aim at his detractors. Uploaded against a blurred out screen with only a praying emoji and an exclamation mark, a voice is heard saying: "I would rather be hated for who I truly am than to be adored for someone who I'm not. Love based on a lie is of no worth. I would rather be rejected for being my true self than to embrace the false side of me. I won't change who I am to suit other people. What you see is what you get."

And as a quiet piano in the background ramps up, it continues: "I've done bad things and made plenty of poor decisions, but I'll always remain true to myself. Even though I don't like some of the things I've done, in that moment, they felt like the right thing to do. No matter who you're with, or what friends you make, never change yourself to suit them."

It didn't exactly go down well with fans, many of whom would happily see the back of him now. One wrote: "Might mute the words Todd Cantwell until the season starts," while another said: "Needs to go, we have enough to worry about without worrying about this fella. If he was chocolate he'd eat himself!"

And another cheesed off punter posted: "Not much else you can say about him anymore, tired of the guy, really and truly am. Just f****** log off."
