Tom Cruise enjoyed a curry at a Birmingham restaurant to much that he couldn't resist ordering it again straight after finishing the first dish.

Hollywood star Cruise is currently filming in Birmingham and seized the opportunity to sample some of the city's culinary delights at acclaimed Asha's restaurant.

The staff at Asha's proudly shared a photo of their famous diner on Instagram, sharing that he had loved their chicken tikka masala so much that he ordered a second one straight after polishing off the first.

Alongside the photo, restaurant staff wrote on Sunday: "It was an absolute pleasure to welcome @tomcruise to Asha's Birmingham yesterday evening.

"Tom ordered our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and enjoyed it so much that as soon as he had finished, he ordered it all over again - The greatest compliment.

Cruise, who is known for taking on many of his own stunts, has previously filmed a motorbike freefall off a cliff for the film and was spotted shooting a high-speed car chase in Rome earlier in the year.

He told Empire magazine of the motorbike stunt: “If the wind was too strong, it would blow me off the ramp.

“The helicopter [filming the stunt] was a problem, because I didn’t want to be hammering down that ramp at top speed and get hit by a stone. Or if I departed in a weird way, we didn’t know what was going to happen with the bike.

"I had about six seconds once I departed the ramp to pull the chute and I don’t want to get tangled in the bike. If I do, that’s not going to end well."
