Tom Sandoval gets emotional over Rachel Leviss affair aftermath: 'People think I'm a complete narcissist'

Tom Sandoval is opening up about the aftermath of his cheating scandal — and breaking down in the process.

In new clips from the upcoming second season of the grueling reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, Sandoval reflects on the torrid Vanderpump Rules affair best known as "Scandoval."

"I've had a hell of a, like, three months," he said through tears, in a clip debuted by Us Weekly. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Sandoval had cheated on his then-girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, with their friend Rachel "Raquel" Leviss.

"It just was the perfect storm," he said in the clip. "My publicist had never seen anything like it. 'A f—king reality star having an affair' on CNN? It's so stupid."

Lamenting the damage to his reputation, Sandoval continued, "It's so stupid. It became this Team Ariana thing. They sold $200,000 in merch in, like, two weeks."

Following the revelation of his months-long affair, many of Sandoval's Vanderpump Rules costars cut ties with him in favor of Madix. "Seeing people I've been friends with for well over a decade just turn on me, it was just so exhausting," he said.

In a second clip debuted by PEOPLE, Sandoval recounted the "pretty juicy f---ing scandal" to his fellow boot camp recruits, expressing surprise at the response from fans.

"People were messaging me paragraphs of just, like, vicious, like, so visceral hatred," he said. When asked by speed skater Erin Jackson why the affair was "such a big deal," Sandoval had no explanation.

"I honestly don't know," he said, "I'm a f---ing stupid reality star. Like, come on man."

In a confessional interview he continued, "Before this whole scandal, I would meet people who had probably seen me on Vanderpump Rules, and they'd be like, 'Oh my gosh, he's so cool.' And then now, people think I'm a complete narcissist, creeper vibes."

Sandoval added that his choice to appear on Special Forces was not for the sake of running away. "I want to punish myself," he said "I think I deserve it."

You can watch both clips from of Sandoval discussing the affair above. Special Forces: World's Toughest Test airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Fox.
