Tonbridge General Election results as Conservatives hold on to seat

Tonbridge saw the Conservatives keep hold of the seat, with the party's Tom Tugendhat staying put with 20,517 votes. Mr Tugendhat was first elected in May 2015.

Coming second was Labour's Lewis Bailey with 9,351 votes, then Anna Cope for the Green Party with 7,596. Reform UK also making its mark in Tonbridge, with Teresa Hansford winning 7,548 votes.

John Woollcombe for the Liberal Democrats won 4,234 votes, while Tim Shaw for the Independent Alliance (Kent) won 926, and Ian Grattidge for the Social Democratic Party won 156.

The constituency Tonbridge and Malling has been a Conservative seat since its creation in 1974. But the seat was abolished and reformed as Tonbridge after a boundary review, and it is this election which has seen it being contested for the first time.

Tonbridge is one of three seats in the county that the Conservatives have held on to in Kent so far, along with Sevenoaks and Maidstone and Malling. They have lost more than 10 seats in the county losing seats mostly to Labour, but also the Lib Dems.

Turnout for the poll was 69%.
