These are your Swansea City headlines on Monday, June 10.

No Sidibeh bid yet

The Dundee Courier report St Johnstone have yet to receive any contact over striker Adama Sidibeh.

Reports in the national press over the weekend stated Swansea were keeping tabs of the forward, who is valued at around £500,000.

The 25-year-old is currently away on international duty with Gambia, and marked his international debut with a goal off the bench.

But, as the Courier reports, the "there hasn’t even been so much as a phone call to the Perth club" over Sidibeh or fellow star man Dimitar Mitov.

Sidibeh has two years left to run on his contract north of the border, and no approach has yet been made.

Swansea head coach Luke Williams is keen to add a striker this summer, with goals coming at a premium last season. “I think there is a realistic possibility that there will be a new striker,” he said last month.

“We also need to bring in other players who have either proved they can score goals, or players we believe we have seen enough to suggest that if we put them in the right position, they will score.

“We definitely need more natural finishers, more guys with the instinct to finish actions off, because we are getting in there.”

International Swans

Swansea trio Ben Cabango, Liam Cullen and Azeem Abdulai saw minutes for their countries over the weekend.

Cabango and Cullen were involved in Wales' 4-0 thrashing by Slovakia, with the former starting the match and the latter coming off the bench in Trnava.

Abdulai, meanwhile, started for Scotland's under-21s on Friday, with the youngsters suffering defeat to Austria.

In other international news, Aimar Govea has been named in Ecuador Under-20s’ squad for their upcoming tournament in Chile.

Ecuador will take on Paraguay on June 19, Canada on June 21 and Chile on June 23.

Langstaff named captain

Macaulay Langstaff has been named Notts County club captain for the 2024/25 campaign.

Langstaff, a name mentioned as a possible Swansea target earlier this summer, will be supported by vice-captain Matt Palmer.

Although the news won't quite stop the transfer speculation surrounding the striker, it does hint that he'll be sticking around Meadow Lane for a bit longer.

Head coach Stuart Maynard said: “Firstly, on behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to thank Kyle Cameron for his service as captain over the last three years. He led the team back into the EFL and his contribution throughout his time in the role isn’t lost on anyone.

“However, we feel this summer presents us with an opportunity to bring constructive change to the leadership structure within the squad as we prepare to embark on what will be another highly competitive League Two promotion challenge.

“For us, Macaulay has everything you need in a captain of a club this size. He has won the respect of everyone – players, staff and supporters – with his incredible, consistent performances and the way he conducts himself day in, day out.

“His work ethic is infectious and, as captain, he will play a huge role in creating the working environment we need if we’re to be successful this season. Helping him will be another hugely respected figure in Matt, who so many of the players, including Macca, have told us they regard as one of the most influential players in the squad.

“Matt’s recovery is progressing well and he is going to be a huge figure for us moving forward, both on the field and off it in his new role.”

Langstaff said: "To even play for a club of this size is a privilege - but to be told by the gaffer that wants me as captain is one of the proudest moments of my career. I'm so grateful to him for putting his trust in me to lead the team into next season."
