Masterchef presenter Gregg Wallace enjoyed a visit to an award-winning East Lothian hotel and restaurant recently as he uploaded footage from his mini getaway on social media.

The 59-year-old was in the lap of luxury after checking in to the Bonnie Badger in Gullane last week as he shared footage of his hotel room with over 140,000 followers on TikTok.

The five-star restaurant and hotel is run by Edinburgh celebrity chef Tom Kitchin and his wife Michaela and regularly hosts big celebrity names, having opened in 2018.

The English broadcaster seemed won over by the charm of the seaside retreat, showing followers around his room which boasted a huge bathtub in the bedroom, en-suite bathroom and flatscreen TV above the fireplace.

Starting the video by showing followers the view looking out towards the main street, Gregg said: "Right, have a look at my room at the Bonnie Badger. Yeah, I'm making a mess already but look at that...

"What an absolutely lovely, lovely room." He added in the caption: "Went to stay at The Bonnie Badger last week, what a wonderful place! This was my room."

A picture of Gregg with Tom and Michaela was later posted on the restaurant's Instagram page as the pair thanked him for visiting.

The Bonnie Badger's Broc Bar was named the best in East Lothian in this year's National Pub & Bar Awards. Each year around 100 county winners from across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland are recognised for their high standards.
