Tornado Leaves Behind Extensive Damage in Michigan

Residents have surveyed the extensive damage caused by an unexpected tornado that touched down in Michigan early Wednesday morning, February 28.

The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in Grand Blanc with estimated peak winds of 115 mph.

No one was injured or killed by the tornado, the NWS said.

Footage filmed in Grand Blanc by Benjamin David Stanley shows several downed trees, a downed power pole, and debris on the ground.

It was only the second time a tornado had been observed in southeast Michigan in the month of February, according to the NWS. Credit: Benjamin David Stanley via Storyful
