A tornado left swathes of damaged properties behind in Omaha’s Elkhorn neighborhood on Friday, April 26.

Alex Freed captured the aftermath in drone footage showing destroyed houses along West Maple Road.

Nebraska Gov Jim Pillen said many families lost their homes.

Pillen issued an emergency declaration for Douglas, Lancaster and Washington counties, which were all impacted by the storms, enabling the counties to receive assistance funding through the state for recovery.
