Sirens blared in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, late on Monday, January 2, as the National Weather Service issued tornado warnings amid stormy weather.

Parts of the state’s east were under a severe thunderstorm watch on Monday evening, with wind gusts of up to 60 mph and quarter-sized hail possible.
