Tornado Spotted Swirling Near Iowa Town

A tornado was spotted swirling near Rockwell City, Iowa, on Tuesday, April 16.

Sheenie Janssen told Storyful she heard the sirens go off in town and captured this video on Tuesday.

“[I saw] the funnel cloud turn into [a] tornado. Watched the tornado form and then disappear,” she said.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the town on Tuesday afternoon.

The funnel lifted and touched down several times on farmland across Calhoun and Pocahontas counties before dying out, local media reported. The only known damage was to power lines, according to local outlet KCCI. Credit: Sheenie Janssen via Storyful
