All the Tory Cabinet ministers predicted to lose seat in General Election

All the Cabinet ministers set to lose their seat in the General Election have emerged - in a dire night for the Conservative Party. The Tories will see a number of Cabinet ministers lose seats as Labour Party wins a landslide tonight (Thursday July 4).

Possible Cabinet casualties, according to Beth Rigby, include Jeremy Hunt, who could become the first Chancellor to lose his seat at a General Election and a possible gain for the Liberal Democrats. Lib Dems could also gain Alex Chalk's seat in Cheltenham and Lucy Frazer's in Ely and East Cambridgeshire.

Other Cabinet Ministers at risk are Grant Shapps and Johnny Mercer, with others too close to call including Penny Mordaunt in Portsmouth North, who is Commons Leader, as well asSteve Barclay (DEFRA) in Cambridgeshire North East, and Transport Secretary Mark Harper in Forest of Dean. Richard Holden, Mel Stride - the DWP boss - are also at risk, as is Victoria Atkins in Louth and Horncastle, who is Health Secretary.

Replying to Beth Rigby, a Twitter user said: "what do they do with the too close to call seats on the exit poll? or if they think it will be just one seat more they call it that way?" A second said: "Would actually be glad if Sunak held on with a wafer thin majority though, then he would have to make good his 'pledge' to stay an MP for all the next Parlt (it's a Tory pledge though, so say two months max and then California here we come)"

A third said: "Regardless of results, if Shapps is out it’s a big win for this country. Horrible horrible person."
