Tory hold in Old Bexley and Sidcup as MP Louie French 'grateful for support'

The Conservative Party has held its seat in Old Bexley and Sidcup after Louie French was announced as the winner returning to the role of MP.

Louie French has held the seat for the Conservative Party with 17,910 votes, giving him a majority of 3,548.

Mr French will be returning to the role of MP for the Old Bexley and Sidcup Constituency after serving as MP since 2021.

This year, the Conservative Party won 37.6 percent of the share of the vote, down 26.3 percent from the last election.

Meanwhile Labour won a 30.2 percent of the share of the vote, an increase by 6.3 percent from the previous election in 2019.

In a statement on X, the newly named MP wrote: “Thank you to everyone in Old Bexley & Sidcup who put their trust in me to continue serving as your local MP.

“It has been a very tough night for the Conservative Party, but I am incredibly grateful to have the support of our community.

“Thank you again. I won’t let you down”
